A grenade from World War I that had not been detonated was discovered by a child on a beach in County Down, according to the police.

After discovering the object on Cultra beach, the little child reported his discovery to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

After visiting the location, an Army technical officer determined that the object in question was a live World War I "Mills Bomb" hand grenade.

After that, it was transported to Crawfordsburn Country Park, which served as the location of a carefully orchestrated explosion.
