It wasn't long after the artist began dating Taylor Swift in 2008 that rumors began to circulate about how messy their breakup was going to be. After dating for three months, the Pennsylvania native shared that Jonas ended their relationship with a brief phone conversation that lasted only 27 seconds.
"You know what, it's like, when I find that person that is right for me, he'll be wonderful," Swift said while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November 2009. "It's all right – I'm cool." Those sentiments were obviously not received in a positive manner. I did not bring the conversation to a close," the alum of Disney Channel who began dating Camilla Belle after his breakup with Taylor Swift posted on MySpace at the time. "Someone else did. Telephone conversations may only continue for as long as the one on the other end of the line is willing to engage in conversation. When someone else hangs up on the call, the length of the call can be significantly reduced.
Jonas proceeded by saying, "The only thing that made this conversation different was the fact that I told the other person something they did not want to hear." There were subsequent attempts at communication, but none of them were successful.
The broken relationship between the ex-partners was eventually patched up, and they both stated that they were now on amicable terms.
