Over the course of the past year, one of the most interesting stories to follow has been Tiger Woods' comeback to the PGA. After being involved in a vehicle accident that left him with severe injuries, Woods put in a lot of effort to recuperate, and he made his comeback earlier this year. Due to the continued pain he was experiencing as a result of the aforementioned ailments, he was compelled to make an early withdrawal from the PGA Championship. Additionally, he did not compete in the US Open. On the other hand, it is anticipated that he will participate in the Open Championship.

According to ESPN, Tiger Woods provided an explanation for his decision to skip the US Open in favor of competing in the Open Championship.

Woods stated that he had intended to compete in the U.S. Open but that he was unable to do so due to physical limitations. "Physically speaking, there is no way that I could have accomplished that. Because I was having some problems with my leg, and because doing so would have put this competition at risk, there is no need for me to do that. The Open that we are going to be competing in is one that has a significant amount of history. I was fortunate enough to be a part of the past champions that have won there, and I want to play there again. However, I don't know when they are going to go back while I'm still able to play at a high level, and I'm not sure if they ever will. I hope that I will be able to give it at least one more go at the highest possible level."
