Mark Badgley is the creative mind behind the American fashion house Badgley Mischka, which he founded in 1993. Their collections are rumored to be heavily influenced by the glitz and glitter of Hollywood in the 1940s, despite maintaining a straightforward and uncomplicated aesthetic.

 

James Mischka attended Rice University with the intention of majoring in biomedical engineering; however, he ended up receiving degrees in art history and managerial studies instead. He graduated in the year 1985. Badgley and Mischka first crossed paths at New York City's Parsons School of Design. Badgley Mischka was first introduced to the world in 1988, but the couple didn't unveil their bridal collection until 1996. Escada made the purchase of Badgley Mischka in the year 1992. Candie's acquired Badgley Mischka from Escada in the year 2004. (later renamed Iconix Brand Group).

 

Sharon Stone was named the new ambassador for Badgley Mischka in September 2006, after the company made the announcement that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen would be stepping down from their role.

 

Iconix completed the sale of Badgley Mischka to a consortium consisting of Mark Badgley, James Mischka, and Titan Industries in 2017.
